Halloween is only six days away! It’s time to get those pumpkins decorated and on the porch. I love a carved pumpkin, but my daughter is still too young to do this on her own. I like ideas that she can get involved in doing with me. When I spotted these water color pumpkins I thought they looked both kid friendly and beautiful. They would even look great as the centerpiece for a Halloween party. See the full tutorial via the blog Lines Across.
Happy pumpkin decorating!

You have seen her pillows, plates and more at Anthropologie. She is Nathalie Lete and her work is a vintage-esq dream. It is playful, fun and oh so beautiful. I wish I could fill my daughters room with her toys and my kitchen with her dishes. Her gift for creating quirky and whimsy will take any space from drab to magic. Read more about this Paris artist here. These are some of my favorite Nathalie pieces.
My daughter loves to paint. What kid doesn’t…right? I feel like breaking out the water colors is becoming boring. We need to expand our painting horizons and try different techniques. I loves these four ideas from some of my fave blogs. They will be fun for her to experiment with. I would actually really love hanging them on our walls. My favorite is the bubble art. Wouldn’t that be cute in a kids bathroom? What do you think? Here are the ideas with links to the tutorials so you can give these ideas a try.

I have a sitting are that needs an ottoman or bench. The ones I see are a little more than I would like to spend and don’t have upholstery that I love. I flipped when I saw this kilim d.i.y bench via A Beautiful Mess. It looks like a project I could handle at price I like. I love this bohemian style, but if your more coastal and preppy you can select a rug that reflects your style. See the full tutorial HERE to make your own.
I have a green gourd lamp I purchased over ten years ago. I’m trying to take my sitting room/office area and make it an updated deep blue. How cool would it be to take that out of date green lamp and paint it white with blue brush strokes?! I will keep you posted on how it turns out. Next time your at the thrift store think about using this technique on one of their out of date lamps. It will take a room from boring to amazing!
