I’m thrilled to share the photos my client sent of their completed nursery. I first designed their Master Suite which I recently share with you. They came back to get my help with the nursery. The mission was to create a gender neutral space that was modern and fun. They also wanted to incorporate their existing sofa into the design. The soft textured rug really sets the tone for coziness in this modern space. The freestanding bookcase and armoire add the much needed storage. I can already see the happy memories being made. So glad I got to be part of it. See the before and after photos below of this Brooklyn, NY nursery Decorator in a Box.

Here is a look at the boards I created for them. They also received a detailed shopping list and scaled furniture plan.
My client just emailed me photos of their Decorator in a Box bathroom complete! That Carrara arabesque tile shower wall has me doing a happy dance. It’s always exciting to see projects go from the Decorator in a Box design boards, shopping list and tile diagrams to reality. A huge round of applause goes to my client for the implementation with their contractor. A bath remodel is no easy task, but with a custom Decorator in a Box it sure helps a lot. Now this bathroom is looking much more New York City style worthy. Where should I send your custom design? Let’s start your design today!
I’m just wanted to peak my head up from my desk and say hello. It has been a very busy Summer of designing! Just this month Decorator in a Box box has shipped to California three times, New York twice and Dallas. It’s so fun to get to share affordable interior design across the country. The best part is not only is each State and City different the styles are different. I am not a one trick pony designer. I will find your personal style and create a design based on that. Where should I ship your custom design? Here is a peek at some of the designs shipped just before they were boxed.

Do you love the the mix n match dining chair trend as much as I do?! It’s such a refreshing and unique way to break free from the matchy matchy dining room set look. What I love most about mixing chair styles is you don’t have to find several chairs that match. You can shop vintage furniture websites like Chairish.com to create a fun mix with one, two or three of your favorite dining chair styles. I don’t know about you, but it’s hard for me to pick just one Eames chair style. Why not pick three or four styles you love for a mix n match playful look. The key to unifying this mix n match concept is to stick with the same style/era. I have created two vision boards to show you just how to do this. If your a person who loves mid-century modern stick with all chairs that are in that style. Give the room a twist with a rustic industrial table. If your someone who flips for farmhouse style keep with a rustic table and mix n match early American style chairs. Oh and don’t forget to pull the look together with the perfect vintage chandi and rug. Visit Chairish.com to create a look that is all your own or replicate these boards exactly. Chairish has endless styles to choose from, just beware their website is addicting.

I’m so excited to share this Brooklyn, NY Master Bedroom design with you. I just loved the clients minimal and modern style. The Pinterest inspiration boards they showed me were very inspiring. What I love most about Decorator in a Box is that it’s design for real life and every budget. These photos don’t have the professional lighting and every accessory isn’t perfectly placed. It’s a real space being used. The client was able to take their custom designed box and execute the design. They did a great execution I must say! I’m always so delighted to see the design go from boards, shopping list and furniture plan to actual cozy and stylish space. Here is the before and after of this lovely Brooklyn Master Bedroom. Enjoy!

It’s the little corner in a room that makes it special. A well accessorized side table, nightstand, bookshelf and even the toilet tank dial things up a notch. With out these detailed areas in a home your eye has no place to land and your home can feel cold. Thoughtfully collected and layered accessories add all the charm. Here is a round-up of beautiful vignettes that have me feeling inspired to add that special detail to each Decorator in a Box I create. I hope they inspire you to make your house more of a home with little details.

I love a room that serves multiple purposes. That’s what got me inspired about this office + playroom from Style Your Senses. I have a similar set up in my home right now. It’s just not nearly as polished and detailed as this. It’s more temporary until we remodel things the way we would like. I love how this room still remains stylish and chic for the mother yet fun and playful for the kids. I can tell she was also very smart with the budget making use of some IKEA. See the full tour on the blog Style Your Senses. Who says work can’t be a little playful.

How awesome are these engineered prints?! At first glance I would have thought they were taken with a pro camera and printed using the best photo printer. Guess what? They were taken on a basic camera and then printed on a plotter. A plotter is what designers use to print their architectural or CAD drawings on. This can be done at your local Fedex store and at a very thrifty price. The trick is to crop them in an artsy way ( like the photos below). Then turn them into black and whites before printing. See the full tutorial via the blog Chris Love Julia.
