DIY Wednesday :: Nora’s Masterpiece

We were having so much fun making pies with Nana yesterday that my usual d.i.y Tuesday is now a Wednesday. Better late than never I guess.

We are working on turning our formal dining area into a play space for Nora. It’s off our living room, so I need to make sure the colors and styles work together.  I had an old canvas in the garage of a really bad painting I attempted to create last year. I decided Nora my three year old would have better abstract skills then me. I commissioned her to paint the large canvas for the super affordable cost of a box of macaroni and cheese. I selected the colors and we got to work. She had a blast using her feet as the paint brush. I had a bucket close by to rinse her hands as I brought out new colors one at a time. The key was to introduce one color at a time, because Nora loves mixing the same brush in colors which creates a grey, black or blah color. We started with gold rinsed her hands then moved to black and so on. It now hangs on the wall and is my favorite painting in the house. Nice masterpiece Nora!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving all!
