One of my first Decorator in a Box clients was my cousin in San Diego who I love and adore. She is also my best client and has pretty much MyDIABed her entire home over the years. Her latest update was done to accommodate her growing family of six and their changing needs. We did just that by creating a more open and cozy design. It will accommodate and holdup to the family and their sweet labradoodle. We accomplished all of this without sacrificing style. I was just at her home this morning and snapped some photos to share with you.
The Living Room design goal was to open up the space and make it more cozy. It needed to seat all six of them and the dog comfortably. We did this by eliminating the large armoire that housed the TV and wall mounting a flat screen over the newly tiled fireplace. By making that key change it made room for an oh so comfy sectional for the family to pile on. Selecting soft and durable textiles finished off this inviting space.
The boys bath was the most fun for me. I took inspiration from their YMCA wilderness guide camp. The wilderness details of Pendelton towels, rope hooks, rustic paint by number and nautical stripes made the look. The boys native headdress photos finished off this outdoorsy bath.
