Sunday Read :: Jonathan Adler on Happy Chic Colors
This book is on my wish list! I love color and Jonathan Adler really knows how to do it well. Not only does he boldly step out with blasts of happy color, but he encourages everyone to do the same. He says, “So many people shy away from using color in their homes for fear of getting it wrong…but ignorance and fear are no reason to live in a bland box. Beige is a bummer! Colorless is characterless!” Bold color is always inspiring to me and I love the theory of surrounding yourself with the colors that make you happy. I once painted my room kelly green, walls and ceiling. When the room was bare, from the outside it looked like it had a nuclear glow! I put a white canopy over the bed and along with the black and white patterns in the room it really made a bold statement. Have you taken a risk on color and did you like how it turned out?
Happy Reading! -Lacey

I did blue lattice chairs around my dining table inspired by Adler…it was a risk for me and I love them.

The biggest color risk I have taken was painting a antique chest teal and I love it!
