Cozy Cabin Vibes

There is a Fall crisp in the air and I’m loving it. This weather always gets me thinking of cozy cabins. I know there is plenty of Summer fun to be had at the cabin, but I love a Fall trip to the North Shore of Minnesota. There is nothing like red, yellow and orange leaves popping out. Here are spaces that are inspiring me to create a cozy vibe this Fall.

Guide To Mix n Match Dining Chairs

Do you love the the mix n match dining chair trend as much as I do?! It’s such a refreshing and unique way to break free from the matchy matchy dining room set look. What I love most about mixing chair styles is you don’t have to find several chairs that match. You can shop vintage furniture websites like to create a fun mix  with one, two or three of your favorite dining chair styles. I don’t know about you, but it’s hard for me to pick just one Eames chair style. Why not pick three or four styles you love for a mix n match playful look. The key to unifying this mix n match concept is to stick with the same style/era. I have created two vision boards to show you just how to do this. If your a person who loves mid-century modern stick with all chairs that are in that style. Give the room a twist with a rustic industrial table. If your someone who flips for farmhouse style keep with a rustic table and mix n match early American style chairs. Oh and don’t forget to pull the look together with the perfect vintage chandi and rug. Visit to create a look that is all your own or replicate these boards exactly. Chairish has endless styles to choose from, just beware their website is addicting.

D.I.Y Monday :: Quick & Easy Patriotic Bolster Pillows

I’m always looking for ways to make my outdoor space a bit more festive come Fourth of July weekend. I love this idea via Martha Stewart to take red and blue striped fouta towels to make bolster pillows. Simply use an existing bolster pillow or purchase an insert at your local fabric store. Tie the towel around the bolster with fringes on the ends for a patriotic style pillow. When your done using it as a pillow you can take the towel to to the beach, pool or use as a tablecloth. Search for affordable fouta towels on

Inspired Space :: A More Polished Boheme

I love a bohemian style space, but sometimes it feels a little too rustic for me. I have a preppy side to me as well. This home tour on one of my favorite blogs  Cocoa + Kelly shows a perfect balance of polished boheme. I’m feeling so inspired by the mix of French chinoiserie meets Morrocan textiles. It certainly hasn’t helped my obsession with blue either. Here is a peek at some lovely rooms from the home. Visit Cocoa + Kelly to see the full tour you won’t want to miss.

In The Detail :: Wild Carpet

I have been thinking a lot about the flooring I want to change in my house. I want to remove all carpet and replace with wood or tile. Except… for one room. Our future Den calls for carpet. But, not just basic gray carpet. It needs something special. I have always been drawn to a touch of animal print in a pillow or ottoman. Lately, I love seeing animal print carpet. It is so cool in an office or stair runner. What do you think? Would you go this bold? Here is a little inspiration…
