Inspired Space :: A More Polished Boheme

I love a bohemian style space, but sometimes it feels a little too rustic for me. I have a preppy side to me as well. This home tour on one of my favorite blogs  Cocoa + Kelly shows a perfect balance of polished boheme. I’m feeling so inspired by the mix of French chinoiserie meets Morrocan textiles. It certainly hasn’t helped my obsession with blue either. Here is a peek at some lovely rooms from the home. Visit Cocoa + Kelly to see the full tour you won’t want to miss.

Do you need help mixing your favorite styles into your home? Maybe your more bohemian and your husband is modern. I can help you find the balance with a custom Decorator in a Box to meet your style and budget. Let’s start to decorate!

Etsy Find :: Maewoven Mudcloth Pillows $50

Mudcloth is a major design trend right now. What I love most about mudcloth is that they work nicely with other styles. You can easily mix mudcloth pillows with your existing ikat, floral, stripe or green palm pillows. They are an easy way to add instant style to a wanting room. I love the styles at the Etsy shop Maewoven. I also love her prices at $50 per pillow. Often times a single mudcloth pillow can sometimes run in the $100 range. Visit Maewoven to add this style trend to your space.

Do you need help with your pillow combo? Decorator in a Box can help you with that. Let’s start your custom design today to meet your style and budget.

Planned Space :: My Favorite Furniture Layouts

There are a few things I always try to do when space planning furniture. Here are my five favorites.

#1 A Super Comfy Sectional. I always try to make this happen in a family room. This is the place to snuggle up for a movie with lots of fluffy pillows. image via amber interiors

#2 Four Chairs Around a Table. Weather it’s for a Living Room, Outdoor Fire or Sitting Room I love this arrangement. image via elegant adobe

#3 Corner Swing. This is always fun in a teen bedroom or beach living toom. I’m a sucker for a rattan swing. via one kings lane

#4 Two Cuddle Chairs Facing. This is my favorite in a master bedroom or sitting room off the kitchen. It promotes relaxing with your coffee while waking up. It calls for putting up your feet to get lost in a book. image via calling it home.

#5 Double Twin Beds. In a child’s bedroom there is nothing I love more than double twin beds. If I see a double twin bedroom on Pinterest I almost always pin it. image via amber interiors

Laundry Room Dreamin

I’m taking a moment from working on designs to dream about this Laundry Room. I wish it were all mine. The herringbone slate tile + shiplap walls + industrial lights has me ready to rip out everything that screams 1980’s in my current laundry room. Alright, back to designing I just wanted to peek in and say hello.

Let’s make your laundry a happier place to be with a custom Decorator in a Box.

Before & After :: Decorator in a Box NY Foyer

I love when my clients send me their “after” photos. Often times I don’t get to see how a Decorator in a Box came together. Understandably, my clients are busy getting to work implementing all the pieces of the design after they receive the box. I was thrilled to see how this New York Foyer came together. Here are the before and after photos.  It’s amazing what paint, a runner, furniture, art and accessories can achieve.

Let’s give your space an update with a custom Decorator in a Box. I will create a design than meets your style and budget. Mailed to you in two weeks for less.

Who says a room needs color to have major impact? This room speaks volumes about the power of simple white with natural texture. You can create this look in your own home by keeping your main upholstery white. Then mix in a natural fiber rug, wood accents and textured pillows. It’s sure to be both stunning and peaceful. This image happens to be Micheal Kors beach house, I think he knows a thing or two about style.

Let’s create a look that is all your own with a custom Decorator in a Box. Full room designs starting at $400 or “a la carte” starting at $75.
