Yea it’s that time of year again! Halloween is hands down one of my favorites. We are gearing up to carve pumpkins this week. We are going with the classic carving technique. My five year old has never done it this way before and it’s so much fun to scoop out the pumpkin mess. I love all the beautifully chic ideas that pop up on Pinterest. One of these days I’m going to venture out and try a more designer pumpkin. Right now I just love to Pinterrst scan the pumpkin eye candy of these fun ideas. They are so lovely I would hate to throw them away.
Happy Halloween All!

I’m peeking my head up from my desk to give you a sneak peek. Then it’s back to work, so I can get these designs in the mail before Santa arrives. I had so much fun working on this traditional style design for a client in the San Fran area. The mission was to incorporate all her existing antiques and artwork to give it a collected look. I think I achieved just that while still keeping thing cozy and not too formal. Here is a sneak peek at the design before it was popped in the mail. The shopping list details of course are for the client. Alright back to designing for me!

I’m just going to say it I’m a picky wreath person. My door is bare because I’m not feeling very jazzed about any of the options I see. Between the almost dried out to the ugly ribbon I haven’t picked one up. Until now that is! I was doing my usual Pinterest scan last night and came to a screen halt when I saw this. On the blog The Alison Show there is a holiday home tour with a wreath that doesn’t get any cuter. All you would need is a wreath, fake snow, miniature homes and trees to create your own. You will be having yourself an oh so Merry Christmas when it’s complete. See the full tour here.
Alright, if the day one tablscape was a bit too simple for you here is another option. This idea gives you a d.i.y project, but an easy one. As long as you keep your fingers out of the line of hot glue…ouch. Visit your local craft store for a plane straw wreath + wood balls + hot glue + white candle. Then add eucalyptus or olive leaves for the finishing touch. Simply glue the wood balls to the wreath making a beautifully modern chic candle wreath. See the full tutorial via Bildschoenes blog. Happy hot gluing your way to a super chic table decor.

I’m back! I know you all have been wondering where I went. A lot is happening at Decorator in a Box. It has been a fun and busy Summer that is for sure. As Fall approaches I thought I would pop my head up to give you a sneak peek of this beachy design. Kind of like a last glimpse of Summer as we fold up our chairs. Well for the young lucky lady of this bedroom life is beachy everyday no matter the season. The mission for this design was no pink, beach style and a make the most of the small room. The beach vibe is in the details like the drapery finials, lamp and stripe rug. Here is a little sneak peek at the design boards and plan. Of course the shopping details and email questions are for my Decorator in a Box paying clients only. Enjoy this peek!
